Obama’s and Napolitano’s New Security Tactics — Detaining Michael Yon

If you’re not familiar with Michael Yon, you should check him out immediately. He is an independent photojournalist who has been embedded with our forces in Iraq and Afghanistan for years, delivering gripping stories and photos of our amazing men and women putting their lives on the line to protect us.

There’s a breaking story now where Michael Yon was detained at Seattle’s SeaTac airport by the TSA because he was unwilling to answer their questions. What did they want to know? How much money he earns. What in the world does that have to do with national security? When he refused to answer their inappropriate and unnecessary question, he was handcuffed and detained. From Michael Yon’s Facebook page:

When they handcuffed me, I said that no country has ever treated me so badly. Not China. Not Vietnam. Not Afghanistan. Definitely not Singapore or India or Nepal or Germany, not Brunei, not Indonesia, or Malaysia, or Kuwait or Qatar or United Arab Emirates. No county has treated me with the disrespect can that can be expected from our border bullies. –Michael Yon

Perhaps Obama and Napolitano should consider asking for help, because clearly, they are out of their depth on securing the borders of this country. What are we doing with the Christmas Day Bomber? We’ve put him in the criminal justice system, affording him the full rights of a U.S. citizen, and talking about giving him a plea bargain. Really?!

We are quickly becoming the laughing stock of the world, and our enemies are becoming more and more emboldened by Obama’s tactics. Not only does asking someone about their yearly earnings have nothing to do with national security, but it tramples on our constitutional rights and freedoms. In response to the Christmas Bomber, our “leaders“ have implemented mostly useless and reactive measures. In contrast, the terrorists who, despite Obama’s words to the contrary, are clearly at war with us, and continue to plan new ways to hurt innocent Americans.

Might we suggest that they focus their attentions on the groups of people who are actually trying to blow people up on planes, and not on returning U.S. citizens?

The Movie Al Gore doesn’t Want You to See — On the Web

Three years in the making, with a budget of around $1 million, and no distributors or film festivals really interested in showing the movie, this one is destined to fail, right?

Let’s hope not. “Not Evil, Just Wrong” is important, important for our world, important for our individual financial futures, and important for proving that science is alive and well. In an era of squashing those that disagree with the Global Warming machine, film producer Phelim McAleer and his wife Ann McElhinney, who co-directed the film, hope to get a different voice heard.

In the face of such adversity, they are hoping to prevail by premiering their film on the web. Find out how to see it by visiting their website.

Phelim McAleer is not new to the debate. Recently, McAleer and Lou Dobbs discussed a rare Q&A session with Al Gore, in which the director clearly embarrassed the former Vice President. Here’s the Wall Street Journal’s take on the Q&A.

As I discussed in a previous post, our planet’s climate should be explored using Science, not strong arm tactics, fear and the dissemination of false information. We should be asking ourselves why is it so hard to voice opposing arguments on this issue? Why is this topic off limits to open, free debate? Maybe, it’s because there are those out there that see an opportunity to amass great wealth and power (i.e., Al Gore).

And just what happens when there is hard evidence to the contrary? Like for example, when Alan Carlin, a senior analyst in the EPA, argues that the science behind man-made global warming is inconclusive at best? It is forcibly silenced (references: Wall Street Journal, CNET News, and News Busters). Fortunately, there are those unwilling to stand on the sidelines and let this go unanswered. A 2008 study refuses to accept Al Gore’s statement that the “debate is over.” In the 14 page report, they detail how lopsided the debate has been and provide some excellent recommendations for future coverage.

It’s time we had all the facts. It’s time we were allowed to make up our minds, instead of being told what to think. Take some time out of your day. Gather friends and family around a PC. Give yourself the chance to make up your own mind.

Just Another Example of Why the Mainstream Media is Such a Farce

This week, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh was forced out of a group seeking to purchase the St. Louis Rams football team, a group that approached him from the start. That is a story unto itself. But what happened in the news media this week demonstrates once again why journalism in this country is nothing more than a farce.

CNN and MSNBC were the culprits this time, citing that Rush Limbaugh made racist comments on his talk show. These comments were reported by CNN, MSNBC and Jack Huberman’s post on the Huffington Post as proof that Limbaugh was a racist, and therefore did not deserve to be a part owner of an NFL team. However, the news media never sourced those comments. What? Are you kidding me? They reported to their thousands (maybe tens of thousand?) of viewers that Rush Limbaugh said something without first checking to see if he actually did?

The Media Research Center President Brent Bozell has demanded that CNN and MSNBC provide proof that Limbaugh made those comments. The Media Research Center also reports today that MSNBC has admitted that they were unable to verify those statements were made by Limbaugh, but they have not offered an apology or a retraction. And the Huffington Post has since deleted those quotes from Huberman’s article.

Remember what your mom told you? “Don’t believe everything you read.” She couldn’t have been more right.

And the media, slobbering over Rush Limbaugh’s removal from the group, proved just how left they are.
