Any elected official can claim that he was "swept" into office due to "change". Yet there is a real difference between the circumstances of how Obama was elected and how Brown was elected. Obama became President due largely to his campaign promises for changing the way Washington worked, eliminating closed-door meetings, bringing transparency to the health care debate, and numerous other broken promises. Brown was selected because he directly opposed Obama's policies, Obama's approach to our economy, and Obama's obsession with the horrendous health-care bill. Brown referred to himself, as did the voters themselves, as the "41st vote", a direct shot at Pelosi, Reid and Obama. So there is a real, clear difference between the circumstances that swept Obama into office, and the surge of outrage at Obama that swept Brown into office.

As for your second comment, every newly elected President, save Washington, inherited a situation from the previous President. The difference is that leaders don't whine about it. They lead and take action. Obama is whiner. He takes credit for the work of others, and bemoans others when his attempts fail. Bush inherited a bloated tech bubble, a looming financial crisis (i.e., fannie mae and freddie mac), and terrorists emboldened by Clinton's failure to deal with their many attempts, which ultimately led to 9/11, and a horrible financial impact to our airline industry. He never complained. But he took action. We can certainly judge his actions, but Bush was no whiner.

Obama is now bordering on lying. Just yesterday, he described how many jobs were saved or created from the stimulus bill. Excuse me? Almost 4 million jobs were lost last year! What is he talking about? And he went on to say that the stimulus boondoggle averted a depression. If you are going to say something like that, then you absolutely must prove it. I cannot find any evidence that we are out of danger, much less averted a depression. In fact, economists not on his payroll unanimously agree that the stimulus bill made things far worse. If I owed money, the last thing I would do is spend more. I would save, and pay down my debt. Not Obama. But then, it's not his money. It's yours. And it's mine.

Actually, in Pres. Obama's first statement, he was correct to say that the same thing that swept him into office swept now Sen. Brown into office. It was "change."

As for his second comment, he is continuing to blame the previous administration and should stop. But the fact is that everything that has happened in his first year is also a result of what happened in the previous admin. Has he made things better? Only some and has not improved what is so necessary: jobs and housing. People out of work cannot afford health ins., so that should have waited.

OMG! Obama knows what's going on here. He thinks the American people are stupid enough to buy what he's selling. Not anymore! He's exhausted all the mileage there is from blaming the previous administration. Come on Obama! Butch up! Stop whining to your mommy!
