Most doctors do what they can for their end-of-life patients (regardless of age Daddy and I agree) to make them comfortable and work with their families. They do not usually prescribe extraordinary "technology" nor "drugs." That's why there are hospices and other resources. Perhaps a look-back in recent history will remind one of the Terry Schiavo case and it was Jeb Bush who pushed to keep alive (against the husband's wishes and his statement that it was what she would have wanted) a person in a coma for over 15 years.
